Cranium Skylight is an experimental alternative music group formed in San Francisco, California in 2006 by Michael Prahl and Amanda Prahl, who are brother and sister.  They currently reside in Los Angeles.  Cranium Skylight is a metaphor for alternative communication, shedding light on the recesses of thoughts and feelings, and releasing inner visions.  It is an attempt to make connections and bring the heart and the imagination together in harmony.

Michael Lee Prahl is the male vocalist and guitar player for Cranium Skylight.  He has been playing, recording, and producing music since he was in high school and contributes heavily to the production of the band's albums.  Mike played saxophone in the school band and enjoyed playing in concerts with the jazz band.  After graduating, he went to college to study art and music; during this time he attended many concerts, feeling great inspiration from the energy of live shows.  He soon developed a strong passion for making music of his own.

Amanda Jane Prahl is the female vocalist and keyboard player for Cranium Skylight and creates sounds / atmospheres on synthesizers.  She also is responsible for much of the band's artwork, photography, and video projections.  Amanda draws inspiration not only from music but also from surreal imagery, science fiction, horror, and silent film, creating scores in her spare time.  She attended college and studied music and psychology before concluding that she could be a better "therapist" by creating new music that could inspire, her own form of music therapy.
